Our Story

From Greenkeeping to Recruitment Excellence

From the age of 14, Mike worked in and around golf clubs in Milton Keynes, starting at the driving range, selling drinks on the course, and working in the pro-shops before joining the greenkeeping teams at Windmill Hill GC and Wavendon GC.

Between 2002 and 2007, Mike studied at Reaseheath College, earning NC and ND qualifications in Horticulture and a Foundation Degree in Golf and Sportsturf Management. His career included study trips to the Netherlands and USA, and summers spent at prestigious courses such as St Andrews (Jubilee Course) and Wentworth (West Course).

Career Development and Recruitment Journey

After completing his education, Mike furthered his experience internationally at Welschap GB in the Netherlands and worked in roles including Bar and Catering Manager (Windmill Hill GC), Grounds Maintenance Operative (Frosts Landscapes), Senior Grounds Person (St Paul’s Catholic School), Head of Grounds (Wellingborough School), and First Assistant Greenkeeper (Whittlebury Hall GC).

In 2015, Mike moved into recruitment, working across Construction, Transport & Logistics, and Warehousing & Industrial sectors before founding CEUK in 2020.

Focusing on Grounds and Sportsturf Recruitment

By early 2021, CEUK’s Grounds Maintenance division was operational, supplying operatives on Temp-to-Perm contracts to idverde. In late 2023, a strategic decision was made to focus entirely on the Grounds and Sportsturf sectors, aiming to become the number one recruiter in these industries across the UK.
